The NMGIA proudly serves criminal justice professionals from all local, state, federal, and tribal agencies, correctional facilities and task forces, including their civilian counterparts across the 33 counties and 106 municipalities in New Mexico. NMGIA members also include select private sector industries: security, retail, private investigations and bail bonds. We also welcome non criminal justice public safety personnel, academic institutions, prevention/intervention programs and corporations who support the field of criminal justice through educational programs and technologies.

Members gain the necessary experience suitable for promotion or assignment to a specialized unit, taskforce and/or function within their agency.
Members are afforded the opportunity to serve on the Executive Board, Committees, Boards and participate in NMGIA functions, programs and projects. Our members are distinguished among their peers to management, offering the advantage of experience in a professional organization dedicated combatting gangs!
Additionally, individuals are provided the opportunity to be recognized for their efforts in the fight against criminal gangs through our Awards program. Non members may be nominated for an award period, but will be required to become a member in order to claim the award.
