The NMGIA offers investigative support through intelligence services to members, their respective agencies and member agencies. The NMGIA Intelligence Committee works with requesting members to conduct various intelligence functions in support of criminal investigations, acting as a force multiplier for smaller agencies or those without the resources to combat criminal gangs in their respective jurisdictions.
Group Discussion Forums
Members have access to online group discussions forums specific to their Region (I - VII) or may request a special interest group discussion forum, dedicated to the topic requested. The development of a special interest group discussion forum must be petitioned to the board via a special meeting and will be launched upon majority vote of the membership. Special meeting requests are available in the Member Menu.
The NMGIA offers a dedicated group discussion forum to specific gang units, taskforces or case working groups who are part of a GROUP MEMBERSHIP which does not require any action!
In person intelligence exchange forums are held during NMGIA monthly meetings, regional training seminars and the annual conference. Intelligence provided by the membership and gathered from the various intelligence platforms are submitted to the NMGIA Intelligence Committee for analysis. Products are developed and disseminated in the secure "members only" area for viewing.
Members and non-members alike may submit intelligence information to email@example.com. Non-member submitters may be considered to receive membership free of charge for the first year for contributing the NMGIA knowledge base.
The NMGIA Intelligence Committee queries various sources and collects intelligence from the membership. The Intelligence Information received is analyzed in accordance with the criminal intelligence cycle. Available NMGIA Intelligence products are announced via the monthly news letters or Intelligence forum subscribers receive daily email updates of new products.
Additionally, the Intelligence Committee conducts surveys, research projects, special operational support to requesting agencies, conducts threat assessments and maintains gang profiles in conjunction with our state-wide gang index.
